Objective
To rescue surplus edible food from ending up in landfill and mobilize volunteers to transport food directly to community service agencies, assisting our neighbours in need.
Project Summary
This project aims to reduce food waste by redirecting surplus edible food from where it is, to where it is needed most. The Leftovers Rescue Food program supports both environmental and social well-being. When food is eaten instead of rotting in the landfill, we reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted. Community members can contribute through volunteering as a delivery driver, donating food, following Leftovers on social media, or participating in initiatives like the Skip the Depot recycling program.
